Notes & Combos

Honestly wish I put more hours in, climbed from rookie (literally unranked) this month to here. Have lots of replays.

Big things about the climb:

  1. After diamond 5, I almost always ended on apo + crypter.

  2. If I bricked turn 1, there were times I set nothing and just passed (dominus, charmys, maxx c, charmys) all work better with an empty field.

  3. I rarely scooped, people will surrender for all kind of stupid things + run out of time so just wait it out.

  4. If i got maxx c'ed with 1-2 cards on board I made SP & passed.

  5. Sometimes I saved all my h/ts for my turn. Knowing when to use your handtraps is more important than simply just having them. I always shotgun charmy before maxx c if both in hand.

  6. Maliss is not linear, you don't have to be a robot; you can skip some steps to go straight for the kill or bait your opponent first. Assess the situation and act accordingly.

  7. Accesscode + Crypter is the goat.

Deck List Choice:

There are so many good cards i added/removed because Maliss is not a one size fits all kinda deck. Find your playstyle & what you struggle with most & build accordingly. This is more about that.

  1. I don't run lancea cuz even if 20% chance you get hit with it you're opponent has one less card out of 4 in hand to go. If they bricked & you can stop them you will get another turn.

  2. Maxx C & Charmys were much more effective for me than droll. Maliss & Ryzeal players (competent ones) can play play around it.

  3. I had more TTT (3x at one point) but removed due to it being a brick if you had no way to activate it. One is cool.

  4. Metaltronus, a solid card I also ran 3x of but truthfully imperm is more effective.

  5. Allure is good if you're running nothing but maliss & minimal handtraps. If you dont have anything to banish with it turns into a gamble. Usually ashed. Good to bait their h/ts but the ROI wasn't there for me.

  6. Code of soul was a solid addition. Much better than a 3rd bystial. Its literally a IP in grave, what could you possibly want more than that???

  7. If i would change anything I'd maybe cut an ash/charmy for 2x nib. Highly unlikely but i found myself wishing i had it more often than not.

  8. Tb-11 is cheeks. That triple trap banish effect is cool but accesscode + crypter finisher is the goat.

  9. Gryphon also rarely used, but good when I did (used with bao, recently cut for terahertz)

  10. Didn't really make terahertz but was always prepared to depending on the situation.
