Notes & Combos
Originally I wanted to make it to Master V with Rescue-ACE. But after many uncompetitive games, and far too much time spent… I realised I needed to break out the big guns if I wanted to make it in time. Also, playing only eight hand-traps in this format was incredibly frustrating. Fire King has room for 19 hand-traps, while maintaining the power to stop meta decks when going first. Probably the most important part for me though: It’s a very fun deck to play.
I feel that three Sacred Garunix is the right number, especially with Ryzeal around. Since getting it in rotation is so essential to Fire King’s gameplan. Hard-drawing it can let you play even when your opponent has answers for your usual starters. I probably would have played Extravagance if I had the UR for more copies of Garunix Eternity. Although I actually would have wanted a second copy in multiple games regardless. Don’t read too much into the weird extra-deck choices, I just threw in a bunch of cards I thought might be good. The only ones I feel are necessary are the XYZs, Princess, the link 1s, Charmers, and S:P.
Overall, after switching to Fire King, the climb became quite easy. The experience has solidified in my mind that the best way to have a chance going second into this meta is to play a ridiculous amount of hand-traps. The deck is fairly simple to pick up and learn, so I recommend it if you are struggling with climbing the ranks. And as always, if you have any questions about the ratios or how the deck is played, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

018-233-246 I only played a few games with Fire King so I didn't feel I had enough quality replays to make a Youtube video for it. But if you are interested in seeing some fun Rescue-ACE games you can find them here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awxOtIYNn-0
