Notes & Combos
Got to M3 1 game away from M2 then got knocked to M4 with Dracotail. It was too much back and forth in the mirror matches, it's a toss up of luck sometimes, and it was too annoying so here I am with Maliss which was a MUCH easier climb. This Maliss can really cook provided the right hand, even going second.
This is quite an unstandard list, and some may look at it as odd, but I opted for this Cyberse oriented list primarily for extension, if you can extend, you can play!
There are many ways to extend if you see a typical interruption like Imperm or Veiler against Dormouse or White Rabbit. While it is weaker to Maxx C without the addition of Droll and Lock bird, this variant would not necessarily be able to extend as much under Droll. I also find that it's not worth running Droll in this meta as there are only a couple decks worth running it against which are Mitsurugi, White Forest/Azamina, and the occassional Ryzeal. However, the inclusion of Retaliating C can potientially counter White Forest/Azamina as well as Dracotail, and as such I find it to be the better handtrap for this format over Droll. I usually just pass against Maxx C or even a Charmy since Maliss needs a lot of extra deck summoning to build a sufficient end board. Sometimes, the opponent doesn't actually have any play for their turn if you have enough responses of your own such as Ash, Maxx C, Retaliating C or Impulse, and if they have enough extension it's just better to surrender and move on as it's not worth wasting your time.
The Spell choices I included because A.I is basically free extension at no cost AND it searches out another starter or extender of your choosing.
Cynet backdoor allows you a targeted dodge if you need it plus a search. When used in conjunction with a Maliss name it's free extension, almost similar to Red Ransoms effect.
Cynet Crosswipe can be used for the same purpose, a dodge plus you get to pop a card on the field. This works especially great as an endboard piece.
Subtraction is for extension(feel free to replace him). Sometimes such as against Dracotail you have have him in hand go for the Special Summon and go straight into Linguriboh to force them to use one of their interactions prematurely without having to commited to anything.
Searching Radiator can force your opponent to use their interaction prematurely or completely stop it. Be careful going into Lizardose as well as he will lock you out of using Transcode Talkers Effect.
