Notes & Combos

Master 1 again with Lunalight. The deck is arguably stronger than last season since Maliss got nerfed and Dracotail is very prevalent right now. Went 15-5 to finish my climb after dropping all the way down to Master V lol.

Not much has changed from my previous list. From the Main Deck, I took out Crossout because I learned the lines to play around Droll and we (sorta) don't care about Maxx-C/Fuwa. Swapped out Droll + Nib for Impulse as they are better into what's common in the ladder and added in Heavy Poly as I think that card is truly busted and sometimes solos going 2nd. Still on the fence about my ED, I swapped out I:P for Dempsey but it rarely came up. For possible changes, I wanted to add in Red Reboot for Odion and Dracotail but sadly didn't have enough UR CP to craft them. I also see a lot of lists running Ghost Belle over Heavy Poly which makes sense since the card is good into the meta but I will always be a Heavy Poly truther.

As far as the meta goes, I think Lunalight is still well-positioned. Although, it's hard to gauge how much better it is than last season. On one hand, less decks are able to out Liger Dancer so some games are just auto wins but also a handful of decks right now are running banishment floodgates (Macro Cosmos, Dimensional Fissure & Retaliating C) which our deck hard loses to.

Some advice I have for piloting this deck

  • Always play around Droll. Do not get greedy, you should still be able to make at least 1 Liger Dancer under Droll with proper sequencing.

  • Always play through Fuwa and Maxx C. Make two Liger Dancers if you can. Among the meta decks right now, only Ryzeal variants are able to somewhat reliably out two Liger dancers, the rest struggle to out even one let alone two. Also, the half boards we make without Liger Dancer are bad so might as well commit.

  • Save your raigekis for when your Liger Dancers are threatened. This will take matchup knowledge, but if you don't know when to use it my rule of thumb is:

    1. When it looks like they can make Goddess.
    2. When it looks like they can make Chaos Angel with BOTH light and dark materials.
    3. When they have a monster that can beat over Liger Dancer.
  • If they have some sort of destruction protection, Tiger King has a second effect to negate the effects of all face-up Non-Beast Warrior monsters on the field.

  • Practice your combos. The win condition is simple, but being able to get there efficiently is what matters most.
