Notes & Combos

Poor man's version of odion. No purge and no songs. But the deck still performed quite well. I think while impulse is quite risky due to it turning off basically all your monsters besides ed apophis, it's still too good not to run.

I crafted soul drain in fear of dracotail and ended up not activating it even a single game. Probably worth cutting unless you're just a magnet to dracotail or gem-knight and face those types of decks every game.

Solemn wanting and super poly were also incredibly good.

Retaliating C genuiely would be mandatory if there were more decks to hit with it. It feels really good. Droll is also a fine option.

Extra deck has quite a variety of options. I will break them down 1 by 1 because this is a budget deck and I understand if any of those who read it are hesitant about crafting certain cards.

mudragon - mandatory

garura - mandatory

ed serket - mandatory

ed apophis - mandatory, preferably a 2 of but I am poor

starving venom - sounds good, but I didn't summon it at all

secretion - literally a skill drain against dracotail. mandatory

almarduke - sounds good against maljce and other link slop decks, never summoned though

redoer - unbelivable card because you can make it with new apophis + a lvl 4 monster, gaining his effect to bounce a monster when a trap is attached. As per usual, redoer is a great card for grindy decks

vampire - sounds good on paper for going second, never had a reason to summon him over lars though, don't recommend

lars - fantastic for almost any situation past turn 1 or when going second. I do highly recommend having a second ed apophis if you play lars, because most of the time you will use ed apophis as one of materials for lars

zeus - never summoned, but definitely worth it

ty-phone - mandatory for most control strategies, this one included

imduk - used to link off one of your trap monsters because rabbit and little knight require effect monsters

little knoght - it's little knight, play it

rabbit - incredible when you're bricked. overall just a good monster to sit on thanks to his pop effect and battle protection.

Little knight and rabbit are the two most important cards, due to them freeing up monster zones by the end of your combo. Otherwise you would run out of space if you want to summon 2 swamp on opponent's turn, same if you want to go for anguish pattern
