Notes & Combos

Tired of playing BraFu in Dracotail? Why not try BriFu instead? And since Dracotail desperately needs a True 1 card Starter, and Brilliant Fusion can serve as an alternative to Branded Fusion with some Pros and Cons.

PROS

• You can play 3 copies of it. Yes, that's the biggest reason. The chance of opening a card in your deck at 2 is 22%, but opening one that is at 3 rests in 34%. It might not seem a huge difference, but it's a 50% increase in chance of drawing, which is the difference between drawing a starter 1 in 5 hands (Branded) to 1 in 3 hands (Brilliant).
• Nepyrim does something in GY! The competition isn't that huge, since Albaz is only good if you end with Sanctifire on field, but since Brilliant Fusion doesn't Fusion Lock, Nepyrim + Seraphinite can be a really early link Cross-Sheep/S:P Little Knight/Knightmare Phoenix and etc. before you activate your Dracotail Engine.
• Seraphinite is good! I almost always set Ketu by sending Phryxul > add Lukias and use the Extra Normal Summon on it. And later on your combo you can eventually add the Phryxul to hand (Arthalion or Urgula), and use your regular Normal Summon on her in order to special Mululu or add Faimena to hand with an extra material.
• Very lax Extra Deck requirement! You need Seraphinite and that's it, instead of the Branded engine that requires 4/5 cards for a card that you see in 1/5 of your games (Verte exists but still). This means you can play a bunch of different Extra Deck stuff, I went for the Seals + Cross-Sheep Engine but honestly you can do whatever.

CONS

• Garnets don't have that name for nothing... Nepyrim follows the steps of her cousin and is a giga brick in your hand. You could play more Gem-Knight engine in order to alliviate this (it is a good enabler for any Rank 5 you want, or a negate in Hollowcore), but most of them don't work wonders with Dracotail, so I chose to just accept the brick.
• No Verte. The extra deck being pretty open has mitigated this issue and honestly I haven't missed it a lot, but I admit Verte is an excellent option to have.
• Dropping an untargeteable 3k beater that threatens for Albaz is just pretty good, and even though it locks you of stuff like Typhon and S:P, every time you do draw BraFu it's gonna have an impact (or get Ashed lol).

This is mostly it, if you want Power and "save me mommy" button in Verte, you can continue with the Branded Engine. But if you want consistency and insolation for your Dracotails, this is an option.
